GIT: Get Deleted Files Into the Staging Area

If you’ve deleted some files from your project without using git rm you will see those files come up like this when you run git status:

#    deleted:    file1.txt
#    deleted:    file2.txt
#    deleted:    file3.txt
#    deleted:    file4.txt

If you run git add . these files won’t be put into the staging area to be marked as deleted on the next commit. If you want to stage these deletions run this command:

git add -u
